Looking for God in humanity.
Tis Our Job: Deuteronomy 10:12. (Since you always ask what is wanted of you. :) )
odd translation, where is it from?
Anon,JPS. (You can see it on Mechon Mamre.) Though truth be told, I know it from a song by 'The Fray.') Ought it to be translated 'man is born to work?' I know that phrase shows up somewhere as well; can't remember the source offhand. Maybe you know it?
(It's in the song "Absolute" by The Fray. I always enjoy Tanakh in pop songs; it makes me happy. Anyway, lyrics here.)
How bleak and optimistic at the same time. To be born to trouble, but to be a spark...
toil, labor, hard work- עמל
