CEILING COLLAPSE 181ST STREET, IRT #1 SUBWAY STATION
There is a shut down of service on the #1 train due to a ceiling
collapse at W. 181st St.
Temporary shuttle service is being provided to and from the 168th St.,
181st St., 191st St., and 215th St. stations.
The MTA anticipates the station will be closed at least 48 hours
(through Tuesday).
There are no restrictions to pedestrian or vehicular traffic in the
area.

A ceiling collapse? My dear, beloved MTA, how in the world does a ceiling collapse- did no one notice it was rotting away before?

I noticed!
Typical! Leave it to the City of New York to wait until something's literally falling down before they fix it. I heard they closed a section of the FDR Drive because that was falling apart, too. Grumble.
You have my sympathies. Buses take *forever* compared to subways.
A sister NYC subway commuter
which reminds me of this:

Well, how was the A train today?
(or did you take the bus?)
My dear, beloved MTA
You are kidding right? Or you must not read the local papers enough (which is probably a good thing).
Organizationally speaking the MTA is a mess (to be kind).
How bad was your commute today?
