Hayley Westenra is My Goddess

If I were to be a singer, I would be Hayley Westenra. She is a goddess. Firstly, she is utterly gorgeous, but much more importantly, her voice is beyond beautiful.

I love her rendition of Summer Fly (pay no attention to the video, just listen to the song. Lyrics here.) That's my mood at the moment.

Many of her other songs express aspects of my personality. I adored 'Dark Waltz' from the first time I heard it, which was back when I was 16. Her rendition of 'One Fine Day' is completely amazing (and as far as I am considered, Madame Butterfly = love.) 'You Are Water' is a lovesong to God. And then there's her cover of 'Both Sides Now' (originally Joni Mitchell),'which is probably the theme song to my life after The Carpenters' 'Rainbow Connection.'

God creates such beauty in the world. This woman is one of those beautiful creations.

And here are the lyrics to my almost-theme song, just to give you a taste.

Both Sides Now

Rows and flows of angel hair
And ice cream castles in the air
And feather canyons everywhere
I've looked at clouds that way

But now they only block the sun
They rain and snow on everyone
So many things I would have done
Clouds got in my way

I've looked at clouds from both sides now
From up and down, and still somehow
It's cloud illusions I recall
I really don't know clouds at all

Moons and Junes and Ferris wheels
The dizzy dancing way that you feel
As every fairy tale comes real
I've looked at love that way

But now it's just another show
And you leave 'em laughing when you go
And if you care, don't let them know
Don't give yourself away

I've looked at love from both sides now
From give and take, and still somehow
It's love's illusions I recall
I really don't know love
Really don't know love at all

Tears and fears and feeling proud
To say "I love you" right out loud
Dreams and schemes and circus crowds
I've looked at life that way

Oh but now old friends they're acting strange
And they shake their heads
And they tell me that I've changed
Well something's lost but something's gained
In living every day

I've looked at life from both sides now
From win and lose and still somehow
It's life's illusions I recall
I really don't know life at all
It's life's illusions I recall
I really don't know life
I really don't know life at all

Well said. I completely agree. May I also add that Prayer, Let Me Lie, Wuthering Heights, Songbird & Her Japanese Albums are worthy examples of her abilities.

Form a recent apperance:

Also on a more personal level. Hayley is a really lovely person with a very kind & bubbly personalitly with a heart-warming smile.
