The Yeshiva University Tolerance Club alongside Wurzweiler School of Social Work has decided to arrange a panel event featuring homosexual Yeshiva University undergraduates and recent graduates.
Possible Topics of Discussion:
** The process of coming out to friends and family
** The struggles between religious and gay identity
** The progress within the community at recognizing gay people
** Issues of isolation and mental health
** Ways in which friends can be more helpful in this struggle
This event is open to the public. Come. Whether you are off the derech, Haredi, Modern Orthodox, Conservative or Reform, the very fact that this event is happening is important. Come with your questions and let's hope that this dialogue enables people to understand what it means to be homosexual while having been born into or chosen to remain in the Orthodox Jewish world.
