The Language Affair

Russian is a party; Hebrew drives me crazy. It's so frustrating! I hate dikduk. There has to be a better way to teach this language; I want to know why things happen, not that they simply occur out of nowhere! Anyway, hopefully Lightman will save me, and My Other Russian Teacher, please let me know what you think.

Oh, and just because I adore this song, Дай мне силу.

Dikduk = evil. Ugh, I hated dikduk and I still do.

As for Russian, um...er..
a play on the old saying...

"In Soviet Russia, the grammar parses you"

I found that the book Biblical Hebrew for Students of Modern Israeli Hebrew was very helpful for understanding why dikduk happens the way it does (in all forms of Hebrew, not just Biblical). Also, it has really funny cartoons in it.

Wow, I stumbled on this totally by accident. Remarkable that you're undertaking this. All I can say is, get ready for some practice!!

Do Zavtra! (Until tomorrow!)
