Rich, Vivid and Beautiful Music

I like men to have beautiful rich voices. For some reason such music seems much more vivid and alive to me, and resonates more.

Hence I love to listen to Sam Michaelson over here (under Ethnic Songs: that's where you can hear clips.) I'm currently enjoying "Balbeli Oto" [literally, "Confuse Him."] But I have currently decided anything he sings is gorgeous. I like his version of "Just One Shabbos" even more than I like MBD's, for instance. [Hint to parents: I want more of his CDs!]

Josh Groban is a close second. He has a beautiful music video for "Per Te."

And after that, we have Il Divo. "Regresa A Mi" is one of my favorites.

My mother raised me well.

Chana,Per Te is so lovely!

For You (Per Te)

I smell in the air the scent of you
Little dreams had lived with me
Now I know, I don’t wanna lose you
That sweetness which has no age
Your beauty has no rivals
My heart wants only you

For you, For you, I’ll live
Love is gonna win
With you, With you, I’ll have
Hundreds days of happiness
Hundreds nights of serenity
I’ll do what you’ll ask me to
I’ll go always anywher you go
I’ll give all the love I feel for you

Tell me that you know the future, yet
Tell me that this is not gonna change
Without you I don’t wanna exist

For you, For you, I’ll live
Love is gonna win
With you, With you, I’ll have
Hundreds days of happiness
Hundreds nights of serenity
I’ll do what you’ll ask me to
I’ll go always anywher you go
I’ll give all the love I feel for you

I mustn’t say it to you, by now you know it
That I would die without you

For you, For you, I’ll live
Love is gonna win
With you, With you, I’ll do
Everything you’ll ask me to
I’ll go always anywher you go
I’ll give all the love I feel for you

Il Divo is a multinational quartet (the members hail from Spain, Switzerland, France, and the United States). I happen to like their music a lot.
Is your mother from Europe? Is there a reason she exposed you to different kinds of music? Just curious.

Chana, you must love your mother very much. She sounds like quite a role model. I can see why you have such broad interests yourself. Thanks for the link.

Chana, the link describes your roots very well. You will go far!
It's truly one's mother who shapes the child and his/her world. You are very lucky.

Beautiful..

I love Il Divo as well
I love the fact that the world is beginning to appreciate the beauty of a lyric male voice..ala Bocelli, Groban etc...
It is no longer relegated to the realm of opera..nor should it be...

Toni Braxton , IMO, did a better job than Il Divo on her version of that song--Unbreak My Heart.

But Josh G is superb, as is Bocelli. (Kudos to the baal tefila who incorporates their superior music, rather than MBD and Fried clones, into his bakashos.)

You might also wish to track down music by Secret Garden--ethereal if sometimes Celtic-tinged.
