H'm,,personally for me atonement is a huge process of forgiving a specific transgression. It's a torment. I agree with you. Sometimes I'm so angry with a transgressor who brought on the pain and unhappiness. Ultimately we all have to give it up to God. However,it doesn't lessen the hell we all put ourselves through in order to get to the other end of the tunnel.

Nope, not depressed. But everyone should go see the movie Atonement, which is brilliant and much better than the book!
