A Ruckus On The Fourth Floor of Gottesman

Those of you who have been to Yeshiva University's library (which I consistently refer to as Gottesman despite the fact that it also contains the Pollack section) are aware that the 4th floor is the 'Quiet Floor.' In the tradition of other universities which have 1-minute-silent dance parties, streaking or other forms of amusement during finals, the good folks at Stollel Tamid decided to create a very enjoyable diversion.

I've linked it from their blog here.

  7. It *is* the Gottesman Library in its entirety, which includes, confusingly enough, both the Gottesman and Pollack libraries, along with some other collections and the archives. (It uses to include the Museum as well.)

This reminds me of the dance we recently engaged in during the overture, behind the curtain...

  8. Very, very cute.

These guys cheared up 30 people just because they felt like giving them a nice break. It seems silly, but it's a tremendous mitzvah, and watching this video just put a huge smile on my face.

  9. Joel,

As your comment is entirely inappropriate, I'm deleting it. No one was disturbed; it was an incredibly nice thing to do and your approach of labeling others is incredibly upsetting.

  10. Chana,
It's unfortunate that you don't seem to appreciate a dry sense of humor - but it's your blog so feel free to only allow your own brand of humor or creativity:-)

some people look for the quietest, most sparsely populated place on campus to study because we concentrate better that way. This disturbance, even if it was silent (which I can't tell from the movie) is almost as bad as pulling the fire alarm in the library.

Gottesman is the loudest library I have ever encountered (Lord knows if the one at Stern is even worse, but I haven't been there). So shame on those who made a ruckus on the silent study floor.
