May God bless you and keep you

If there were a link to the real version, I'd have put that up, but as it is...it simply is.

  4. Well excuse us Philistinian commoners ... I've never seen the play and last saw the movie as a young child.

  5. Oh Gosh I love every song from Fiddler, I love to watch the movie with Chaim Topol, I even own it.... The song that most gives me the chills is Chavale... anyway I saw it on broadway last year it was phenomenal... but chana is this your signing off for good or your just sharing a beautiful song?

  6. Of course in the movie, the director starts with Tevye's home. He cuts to the faces of the two pairs of lovers, Motl and Tzeitl and Perchik and Hodl, when the song says "may He bring you husbands who will care for you". Then it fades into scenes of all the households in Anatevka making Kiddush on Friday nights.

Sholom Aleichem's stories are very good, and the music is beautiful, but in my opinion, the movie is truly a masterpiece!

  9. That was GREAT. I LOOOOOOOVE Fiddler.
As a kid, I used to read Sholom Aleichem on Friday nights after the meal.
I saw the play and the movie. An absolute classic.

  10. Fiddler is my favorite Bwy Show. The singing was great, but this group did an awful job in the wardrobe and props dept..
